Telemedicine for Pediatric Patients

According to Shi & Singh, telemedicine is distance medicine that is used when the distance between the patient and physician are separated by distance. (Shi & Singh, pg 166).   Telemedicine promotes health and does not require the patient to see a physician face to face.  For pediatrics, this technology would be wonderful because often pediatric patients are frightened by healthcare personnel especially the “white coats”.  Specialists like to use this technology because it help with the complex cases and allows them to collaborate with other physicians.
